Three Best Foo Fighters Albums... ohhhh, thats a toughie, they're one of my all time favourite bands...
Actually, I rather love Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace and consider it one of their best, but since you don't particularly like it, I won't include it in my three... (a shame that, and i do believe you ought to give it a little more time to soak in, its great...) 1. The Color and the Shape 2. There is Nothing Left to Lose 3. Foo Fighters (Self Titled)

I kinda agree with the notion thast One by One was a bit of a low point for the band... but it's not altogether a BAD album, just not as good as the albums that repceeded it...
It still has the title track, Tired of You, Times Like These and Come Back, which are all tight tracks, the kind only the Foos could bust out... and the other songs aren't awful either, just a little less thought out and well composed than their other stuff. The two albums since One by One have been stellar in my opinion. Great catchy, gritty hard pop / rock songs with a timeless quality. Echoes Silence Patience and Grace sees them branch out a little more stylictically, which I think is a great thing. It's actually my third favorite Foos album after Colour and the Shape and There is Nothing Left to Lose.

It's a great album - its not as heart stoppingly consistent, or consistently great as The Color and the Shape, but it's full of strong tunes, very well written, played and produced and it is by no means overshadowed by their previous work.... it stands up there alongside all of their best stuff!
