Do you think you'd bother to learn any of their new stuff? I just don't see anyone getting excited about it like they did with those initial three albums...

I grew up on Weezer. Pinkerton is the best album, although Red does mark a major return to form.

That's how I feel. He doesn't even seem to be trying to write anything anymore.

Has anyone listened to Raditude yet? It seems like they decided to more fully embrace the pop pun sound and completely give up on putting effort into meaningful songs. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to learn that someone else wrote the songs for them. It's sad really, Weezer was some of the best music I heard on the radio, but now it's only really a few songs from Raditude on any more.

I'm loving Ratitude so far. A LOT.

I'm hearing really mixed reviews about Ratitude. I haven't really had time to devote much effort to it, yet, but I plan to. That being said, I feel it would be a crime if I didn't at least say that the first two album (what is almost always referred to as the "Blue Album" and "Pinkerton") are two albums that really take me back to my childhood, and I can still listen to them on repeat without getting tired of them.

Yeah, it's a lot more poppy than their earlier stuff. It's not really a good album because Weezer could've done so much better, but just as an album it's definately great.

Erm... this seems to be the general consensus about nearly ever album they've made since The Green Album. I'm starting to think that they COULDN'T have done "so much better" on this one. Don't get me wrong, Blue and Pinkerton were both fantastic (hate to beat the dead horse here), but as albums, nothing they've done since has been not just up to par, but actually not that good. Granted, Green and Red had some good singles, and Raditude is just okay as a whole, but they aren't cohesive.
