Paramore's Performance on Conan O' Brien on 8/12/13
Paramore has always been a guilty pleasure for me but they really delivered on the Conan O' Brien show last night. I'm still a bit stunned over how much they've improved over the past five or six years. BTW Haley Williams' new short hair and latex look is really hot.

hmm i dont think i like that sound very much though though i do recognize how it has changed over years
i personally loved their first album 'all we know is falling' back in like 05-06. that whole cd was awesome. ive always thought she had a really strong voice that fit well with their music but never found her attractive. surprising i know but redheads arent my type |

I didn't see the performance on Conan (until you posted it), but I have noticed and appreciated Paramore's hit song, "Still Into You," because of its refreshing, light-hearted, quirky pop sound that reminds me of songs from the '80s.
I like the way the song blends a bouncy, quirky '80s pop feel in the verses (which caused the song to catch my attention) with the blander, more modern pop sound of the chorus, which is very catchy and sweet, but...blander. Hayley Williams with her playful, funny, leg-kicking attitude and dyed-red hair strikes me as a watered-down Cyndi Lauper, whose wacky individualism and similarly piercing voice made/make her stand out from the crowd. Googling "Hayley Williams" and "Cyndi Lauper" makes me see I'm not alone in thinking that. Compare the quirk-factor of... Paramore - "Still Into You" An addictive song Paramore: Still Into You [OFFICIAL VIDEO] - YouTube and Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want To Have Fun She has red-dyed hair and frequently kicks her legs, too (as did Hayley in her Conan performance) Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want To Have Fun - YouTube * * * As for Hayley Williams' short hair-cut: to quote Icona Pop, I love it! Now Hayley reminds me of '80s teen movie star Molly Ringwald. Maybe this is another reason that Paramore has a refreshing '80s vibe to me: Molly: Hayley:

"Still Into You" is such a poppy song for me, but I do love Paramore. They always perform great, I've seen them live once or twice and they were wonderful.

The song is stuck in my head now. It probably doesn't help that I've listened to it around 10 times this morning after hearing the song on the radio again last night! After just hearing the song a couple times on the radio, I found myself singing it to myself at weird moments in the day before I even realized I was doing that. I can imagine Paramore's live performances are very energetic and uplifting. (And...11)
