What does everyone think of them?

Is anyone a fan or even can remotely stand listening to their music?

DidierD 06-11-2005 05:01 AM

i used to, but ive kinda moved on

Josephine 06-11-2005 05:03 AM

Except it's written "Kaiser CHIEFS" there's nothing much to say. Both of them are quite cool, not my fav's though, but I like them.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 06-11-2005 06:50 AM

I used to be able to withstand the Killers, now they seem to irritate me a lot more. I think I hear them too much..

Sneer 06-11-2005 08:59 AM

have we not talked about these bands enough?! i hate the way threads like these get replies yet when people attempt to make threads showcasing new music they just die on their arses...

well new people need to talk about it too you know...express their opinion...share their views...they don't know we've talked about it before...
btw, i love the killers, but i too have moved on to newer music...

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-11-2005 10:28 PM

I would be very surprised if anyone still cares about either band by the time they make their 3rd albums

there is such a thing as as searching out old threads. and that doesnt excuse the fact they dont seem to care about new music.

shandapanda 06-12-2005 11:40 AM

but i didn't start a new thread immediately after i joined, they should wait and check things out first anyway.........

Sneer 06-12-2005 11:43 AM

precisely.

adidasss 06-12-2005 03:14 PM

We used to have an Interpol thread, didn't we? I guess I posted in there a few times.
I like Interpol, but I was told that they found inspiration in IRON MAIDEN. Not quite sympathetic, I hate Iron Maiden, they suck...
What's wrong bout Metallica, I mean, I'm not interested in Metal Stuff (NO, PROBABLY NOT!!!), but they got at least a few good songs.

iron maiden? well who ever told u that was obviously playin' with ya...and as far as metallica is concerned i urge you to read the intro on the why i hate metallica thread, i elaborated my reasons there...(they do have a couple of good songs, but just a couple )

TheBig3 06-14-2005 10:31 AM

Metallica, for god's sake please spell it right, you only look like you have no idea what your talking about.

adidasss 06-14-2005 01:16 PM

satisfied?

.angie. 06-14-2005 09:26 PM

ugh, the kaiser chiefs have been on two late night shows. it's horrid.

terminator69 06-07-2008 11:06 PM

The Killers

Anyone like the Killers? They are my favourite band. :o:

phallpdx 06-08-2008 01:10 AM

They are alright, but their are many more bands which sound similar, but are more artistically legit. They borrow Indie sounds/ideas and apply them to something more mainstream. Anyways, I listen to them... but their are much better bands in the same genre. A good stepping stone band.

terminator69 06-08-2008 03:49 AM

What bands?

I've heard people say they are like Franz Ferdinand.

adidasss 06-08-2008 07:47 AM

I'd say The bravery were the most similar to Hot fuss, but Sam's town is another matter completely.
I love Hot fuss, but they've gone to shit with their sophomore effort. Their impersonation of Bruce Springsteen was downright embarrassing. They should have stuck with what they knew best, fun new-wave pop-rock...

Piss Me Off 06-08-2008 08:15 AM

I think concerning Hot Fuss they were mostly influenced by 80's bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure and that lot. Adidass had it right completely with Sam's Town, except i didn't particularly like the first one either.

the_dp 06-08-2008 09:22 AM

I think The Killers were basically trying to be New Order (totally ripping their name and image off from New Order's Crystal video) and have failed miserably. Hot Fuss had a couple of good tracks, but the lead singers limited vocal ability has proven their downfall. And what is up with the image change? Are they trying to be the Dresden Dolls now, or Modest Mouse? I can't tell.

I am of course talking about the Crystal video. They got their name and image from that video.

Come now that would be far to easy.

Good prediction for the Kaisers. Their second album was, I believe, quite well recognized as being an absolutely sh1te product and way inferior to the debut. There would, you'd imagine, be much less interest in the third.

Bands should be in separate threads though. It's not like they're sister groups of something, hell, they don't even make the same sort of music.

15Steps 06-16-2008 03:42 AM

killers = a singles band, and a decent one at that.

sweet_nothing 12-21-2008 01:33 AM

Thoughts on recent collaboration with Elton John?

The Killers - Joseph, Better You Than Me

dillinger 12-21-2008 06:33 PM

they're just such horrible bands making lazy obvious dull music. it's indie rock n roll for me. ugh.

The Killers are playing a larger venue locally then they did last time they came through...

lvsimo77 12-23-2008 08:51 PM

3rd albums a disappointment for each. I thought the Kaisers would do better. I actually liked the 2nd album better but their latest is even more generic pop than their others. They've shown flashes that they could be quite good but they never fulfill it.

joyboyo53 12-25-2008 10:12 AM

It would be difficult not to follow up Sams Town with something better...

gotjuice 12-26-2008 07:06 PM

Hot Fuss>Sam's Town>Day & Age

-Al- 12-29-2008 01:47 PM

Actually the Killers list goes Hot Fuss-Sam's Town-Sawdust-Day and Age.

I love the Killers very much. <3

Schizotypic 03-28-2009 11:45 PM

For reasons unknown

I listened to The Killers for the first time in like a year a few days ago. I remember their songs being pretty good actually, so when I heard it on my itunes I actually went on playlist.com to check if my version was just jacked-up. It wasn't. I don't know what happened but they don't sound as good as I remember.

Antonio 03-28-2009 11:47 PM

they're ok.

I've actually really come to like them in the last year or so.

I'm not entirely sure why either.
