i like the killers more and more i listen to them however i only liked a few songs off their latest album
|
Yeah, I think I like their compilation album Sawdust the best. They have talent, maybe they just aren't trying hard enough or something. They could be better then mainstream crap, I think.
|
i guess if you're going to have threads on two terrible bands, you might as well get them both under one thread.
while the kaisers have some redeeming characteristics - their first album wasn't bad - the killers are simply one of the worst bands ever to have been conceived. |
I liked the Killers first two albums, Hot Fuss, an Sams' town. Neither were mindblowing, but they were mildly fun to listen to. Then sawdust, not a great album, some good ideas, they absolutely butchered shadowplay imo.
New album is ****tier than a morning **** after eight servings of curry the night before |
I love The Killers very very much, they are so good and in my opinion, they just get better and better. This is how it is (take it from a huge fan that wore out each album);
Day & Age>Sawdust>Sam's Town>Hot Fuss I rest my case. |
I can put up with Hot Fuss I guess.
'Jenny Was a Friend of Mine' has a cool but simple bass line. Other than that, mostly pop songs... |

I love both version of Shadowplay. I like how The Killers cover of Shadowplay doesn't sound like your typical lazy soundtrack cover - it has a different feel to it and more energy. They also did a great job of Bright Eyes' 'Four Winds' - imo, their version sounds better than the original. |
The Killers use a lot of nice modes in a lot of their songs that aren't contemp to some mainstream ways of writing a song; to me, there's pros and cons about all bands. The Killers have a lot of great instrumentation, and their synthesizers add a ... gospel? feel to many songs. They are very similar in sound though.
Oh, contrasting scales rock in their songs. I love how this turned into 'The Killers', leaving out the other dudes. |
To be completely honest i liked The Killers' first album Hot Fuss. I think Smile Like You Mean It is a great song, it brings back good memories. Everything they released after that is terrible.

That's why the first post asks what do you think of THEM. |

As big as the bands may be, this thread isn't really that popular, so it isn't really practical to make seperate ones :).

i think the killers are a great band for when you want to listen to something different. at first i kinda liked the Kaiser Chiefs then i bought their album and then i started hating them
|
I really enjoyed Hot Fuss and Sam's Town, and I actually still listen to both those albums on occasion. After hearing Sawdust I gave up on the bands new music. I like what Dwight said about them, because I definitely agree with his point that the way they use their synthesizers gives some of their songs a very gospel music feel. Good stuff, I loved them way way back in the day. Kaiser Chiefs, never heard a single song (that I know of).
|
Both of these bands are good. I have no idea why they are being merged here, but anyways... I like "Ruby" and "Never Miss A Beat" by Kaiser Chiefs. I find their music quite..."interesting".
|
The killers are one of my favorite bands. My favorite songs by them are:
Mr Brightside Smile Like You Mean It All These things That Ive Done Jenny Was a Friend of Mine When You Were Young Read My Mind Spaceman Dustland Fairytale Runaways And yes i went from first to most recent albums. They're currently my second favorite band (it fluctuates from 2 to 5.) My favorite is REM. |
The Killers started really well but got gradually worse. Hot Fuss is great, Sam's Town is really good, Sawdust and Day & Age are both good, and Battle Born is meh.
On the bright side, Brandon's new single is pretty good. |
I loved "Smile Like You Mean It". Haunting and beautiful simultaneously.
