Default For my Damon Albarn fans out there... Gorillaz vs Blur

What do you consider be his best work?

"Both" is not an option. There is a gun to your head and you must decide.

Demon Days is one of my favourite albums, and as much as I like Blur, no single album of theirs comes within Demon Days' orbit.

I've always wanted to like Blur a lot more than I actually liked them. Gorillaz are pretty decent though.

Blur are a pretty uninspiring run-of-the-mill British lad band. Gorillaz was at least something new and fresh, and more geared towards my individual taste, so going with them.

Has to be Gorillaz. Their debut album was absolutely immense, not sure there is a bad song on it and for me anyway it has stood the test of time. Their other efforts were solid if not spectacular. Blur have some top songs, but that's all and I've never been drawn into playing an album of theirs over and over.

I don't like any of Blur's albums by themselves but their greatest hits collection is okay and I've gone through that a couple of times.

So my vote went to Gorillaz.

I was never really a big fan of Blur's music, even after I was old enough to see the irony of "Song 2". Gorillaz had some great singles off their first album but I never really got that into it. Demon Days is an absolute classic in my opinion and easily one of the gateway albums that would later lead me into the electronic and hip hop genres.

So Gorillaz for me, even though I think the best album by Albarn was the soundtrack to the movie Ravenous.

Considering the only album I've listened too by Blur is Think Tank, which is one of my favorite records, and Demon Days and Plastic Beach by Gorillaz which I both enjoyed quite a bit, I don't have much to go off, but Blur takes my vote cause Think Tank is brilliant.

Blur by a million light years. Absolute no brainer.

I quite like Gorillaz though.
