Didn't see a thread for this band so now I'm making one!

Anyone else heard of/like them?

This song caught my attention yesterday and I think these guys could put out a good album this year.

Hahah Kelli, I always listen to all the stuff you post because you like DMB, too, but for some reason I never like it all that much. Guess we have fundamentally different taste after all. This particular track just struck me as background noise. What do you specifically like about it?

Yeah I've seen them twice. They are very good and the lead singer looks exactly like Mark Bolan. This song is total Beatles riff rip-off though x

This band is so great. Just posted about them in a thread about bands with good harmonies. Colours to Life/Shelter song was finally released in the States, and apparently they’re making headway on their LP. Hope their forthcoming tour brings them over here.

Toy—also on Heavenly Recordings—are also good if you’re into shoe-gazey stuff.

The debut album "Sun Structures" is out today. I like what I'm hearing so far on Grooveshark. But I hope there's some kind of original element to them. So far everything sounds blatantly lifted off of 60s psychedelia.

I don't think they're entirely unoriginal, definitely derivative but they do have their own sound.

Anyway I've listened to their new album a couple times already and it's pretty good. Not spectacular, but not bad for a first album.

Sun Structures has actually made it to #163 on the US Billboard charts.

A few of their songs not on their album. These were released earlier as singles (A or B side).

Good interview with an Aussie website.

Temples: "Katy Perry ruined everything for everyone"

Your sound has been compared to other bands whether it be Tame Impala, The Byrds and The Beatles. What do you feel makes Temples an original statement?
I guess at the end of the day, songwriting. It’s very hard to write something completely original without it being completely deranged and incomprehensible. We’re lovers of melody and I guess what makes us original is that these songs haven’t been written before, these are new songs, melodies over chords that haven’t been done in this way. They’re not songs where we’ve copied another song. People will draw comparisons with certain songs, like “They stole the riff off ‘Ticket To Ride’” when it sounds like nothing like it. They identify the 12-string guitar with The Beatles or The Byrds. I guess it’s songwriting at the end of the day. These songs hopefully have an original sense to them, even if you take away the production and just play them on an acoustic guitar; they’d be songs that people could relate to.
