They will be on Saturday Night Live tonight. I'm sure it will not be as fulfilling as I want it to be, but there it is.

Modern Vampires of the City Reviews - Metacritic

Way more stoked for this now. If RollingStone gave it a 9, there's something worth investigating.

Guys this album is insanely good. I mean - INSANELY good!

Vocals- gorgeous! Melodies- gorgeous! Also very highbrow, loads of literary and mythological references in there. But if that's not your bag it don't matter- as the songs work well just as great tunes!

Ahhh, just got the album. Super pumped to give it a full listen.

VW always have clever/witty lyrics that I enjoy very much, along with the music itself.

If you put any stock in Pitchfork, they give the new album a 9.3.

I hate pitchfork with a burning passion, but the albums they rate pretty high, I tend to listen sometimes to what they say.

I'm jumping up and down like a little kid, well a second ago I was, because in October I will be seeing these guys in Nashville. Super-duper pumped.

Sure, it's a long drive. Sure, it's during the school/work week. But it's a chance to see one of my favorites. Hopefully, it's a small venue.

Default Do you think Vampire Weekend's new album is better than their debut album?

I love Vampire Weekend. They have been one of my favorite bands for years now. I am completely obsessed with Modern Vampires of the City- I've been listening to it non-stop for the entire summer. Hannah Hunt is my favorite song on the album because it has such a unique sound and is relatively different from their previous music. Still, I can't help but wonder...is Modern Vampires of the City better than Vampire Weekend's debut album? Rolling Stone made it #24 on their "100 Best Debut Albums of All Time" list. In my opinion, it deserves the praise- it was the album that started it all. What do you think? Is VW's first album better than the last?

Off-topic a bit, but ...

Is it me, or do a lot of bands out of NYC these days have accents that almost sound British? This band is one of them.

I grew up in NJ, but I knew no one back then (70's-80's) who talked like the guys in this band or Grizzly Bear.

Even Paul Simon, who had some obvious NYC accents in a lot of his Simon and Garfunkel stuff, didn't sound like this.

I read somewhere that "Hannah Hunt" is the follow up to "Run"
