I like the intense build, and different approach to the original, but the delivery of words feel less connected to the song. The Swans of '96 were a precursor to "The Seer", the latter a more refined version where Gira knows how to draw a song out, in a good way.

Huge Pixies fan. If you haven't heard of them, check them out now. They basically launched Alternative as a genre.

mewithoutYou - "Bear’s Vision of St. Agnes" (Ten Stories, 2012)

A solid album considering the epic fail of the previous album, It's All Crazy! It's All False! It's All a Dream! It's Alright. Not as great as their first 3, but a logical progression if you disregard the aforementioned misstep. This is probably the best song of the album.

I actually liked "Its All Crazy.." but i guess id agree that its still their worst. Just not terrible is all.

But ya Ten Stories is better and probably just behind Brother, Sister and Catch For Us the Foxes for my fav of theirs. Great band glad to see they get some attention around here

Yeah I've been listening to them since the debut EP and LP, great stuff. It was a little hard to see them change and get softer over time, but I liked each album from the get-go and got to really like them with repeat listens. And hell, I've matured too so I now actually consider Brother, Sister their best album, and don't go for the screamy stuff very often. I just can't really stomach most of It's All Crazy..., even after repeat listens.
