Violent Femmes' second album is one of the most fantastic things I've heard in recent weeks. Might be a good transitional album to finally get me into country. :love:

Nice man, just bought their album after hearing that! Makes me fuzzy and I didn't even know they were from NZ! Cool!

Nice over all atmospheric tone. The vocals compliment and contrast the accompaniment and the lyrical content, production and arrangement all fall together to create a coherent story. A similar evocative mood is prevalent in a number of acts I have come across these days. Check out Laura Marling: Goodbye England , the xx: Shelter or a duet by the echo friendly : same mistakes. Perhaps not quite your speed. However…
