Default Low (band)

One of my favorite bands. The first time I heard them, or rather of them I should say, was on Robert Plant's "Band of Joy" album, which contained a cover of the the song "Monkey" from Low's "The Great Destroyer" album. As of now, "If I Could Live in Hope" is my favorite release.

I would post vodeos but I guess I need 15 posts to do so.

Check out "Monkey" and "Lullaby" on youtube. Better yet post them here; a couple of my favorite tracks.

Wouldn't have thought Robert Plant was a fan, that's pretty cool.

Yeah they're amazing, one of my favourites too. I prefer their albums up to and including Things We Lost in The Fire, but I dig everything they've released really. They've perfected a style all of their own and that merits great praise. Another band I can't wait to see live at ATP next month, too!

ATP, "All Tomorrow's Parties"? Well that is just a bit out of my travel range at the moment, only about 3660 miles or so. Have fun, I'd imagine they are worth seeing live.

Low's great. Unfortunately, this thread is going to get lost, because our stupid search function won't search for less than four letters.

Every time I read this band's name I think it's referring to the song 'Low' by Cracker...

I've noticed. Ill keep a watch on it; they have plenty of material to post every now and then.

Nah, if you put a search in for the band's albums it'll be a snap to find. I've done it with the Can thread.

I'm pretty sure this is the only song I've heard by them, but I love it. I've got some album searching to do.

Think my favourites are probably

Things We Lost in the Fire > I Could Live in Hope > The Great Destroyer

Saw them last time they came to Melbourne. Good show.

They're superb, the the vocal interplay and harmonies on Things We Lost in the Fire are amazing. My favourite album, though, is probably Long Division, every song is killer. The Curtain Hits the Cast is great too.
