That's Frank Black's solo tour. Learn to read.

sweet_nothing 06-17-2008 01:57 PM

samething

sl1ck 06-17-2008 01:59 PM

...I love Frank Black and all, but his solo tour doesn't mean a whole lot to me. Plus, he tours frequently so this is no big deal.

cabangbangq 06-17-2008 02:04 PM

Pixies are awesome. Just saw this thread. There was about a period of a year, where my dad would just play Dootlittle/Bossanova and a Breeders album in the car.

15Steps 06-17-2008 08:53 PM

Frank Blacks solo career was way better than anything the pixies ever did.

sl1ck 06-17-2008 08:58 PM

lol

sweet_nothing 06-18-2008 12:42 AM

well i'm excited its the next, best thing to seeing the Pixies, imo anyway

sweet_nothing 08-27-2008 04:25 PM

Pixies to reunite for new album? | News | NME.COM

Sneer 08-27-2008 04:46 PM

Black Francis' solo stuff is good, especially his demo's, but i think Surfer Rosa and Doolittle will never be bettered, i would be stoked to see him live though.

Piss Me Off 08-27-2008 04:49 PM

Part of me wishes they wouldn't make a new album, don't want them to fuck up their run of albums really. I wasn't a big fan of Bam Thwock.

Sneer 08-27-2008 04:54 PM

Im not sure how Black and Deal will survive each others company long enough to complete an album?

Piss Me Off 08-27-2008 05:05 PM

But they did manage to tour together for quite a while and at least look like they were enjoying themselves...

Sneer 08-27-2008 05:07 PM

the money probably helped. In a pressure cooker environment like a studio im not sure they will. But i shall hope and see

15Steps 08-27-2008 06:31 PM

doolittle is incredible.

Minstrel 08-27-2008 08:36 PM

The Pixies are/were just an amazing band. Surfer Rosa, Doolittle and Bossanova are all fabulous album. I can go for weeks listening to nothing but the Pixies sometimes.

I'd love to hear a new Pixies album. If it is not as good, it won't detract from their earlier stuff, to me. If it is as good, what a treasure!

debaserr 08-27-2008 09:25 PM

i didnt like bossanova but i loved doolittle, surfer rosa and come on pilgrim

15Steps 08-28-2008 02:47 AM

gouge away is my favorite.

JulioO101193 08-31-2008 12:15 AM

I have a special attraction for pixies songs i just love all of em are so enjoyable and sweet but my fav by far is wave o mutilation love to sing it

debaserr 08-31-2008 12:19 AM

ehh i find wave of mutilation one of the weakest off doolittle... that opening riff is great but past that its just repeats alot

There are two version tho... one is all calmed down and the other one starts the guitar thing then the other instruments.. i like both of em actually... mainly the vocals.

I was talking about myself and you about yourself so we agree to disagree

CrackcrackcrackityJones 10-30-2008 02:26 PM

Pixies anyone?

As you can probably tell by the screen name I'm a huge fan of the band. Anyone else? and if so do you prefer their early stuff like Surfer Rosa era or the more commercial sound like off Doolittle?

miskit 10-30-2008 02:38 PM

love the pixies... first album i bought was doolittle...

but where is my mind is the first pixie song i heard and instantly loved

sweet_nothing 10-30-2008 03:37 PM

Frank Black is one of my fav vocalist ever. I love how he can go from soft whispers to screams (best example of this would be Tame)

Minstrel 10-30-2008 06:07 PM

The Pixies are one of my favourite five bands. Simply amazing melodies and vocals. The platonic alternative band to me.

Exactly what happened to me, except for that "bought" part.

blah402 11-01-2008 07:30 AM

Gigantic! Is what started it all. Pixies = priceless

debaserr 11-01-2008 12:37 PM

You're not supposed to talk about fight club

FireInCairo 11-06-2008 02:54 AM

Great band, Personally i prefer surfa rosa and come on pilgrim era

sweet_nothing 12-21-2008 07:15 PM

After seeing Loud Quiet Loud, my interst in the Pixies has re sparked. I'd say Hey is my fav song by them. Are Kim and Frank's other projects any good?

Molecules 12-21-2008 08:35 PM

Chris Morris is spot on with this parody methinks. Sends up 'Nimrod's Son' and 'Weird At My School' in particular?

debaserr 12-21-2008 11:41 PM

for a long time surfer rosa was my favorite. been listening to them a lot recently and it has changed to doolittle.

sweet_nothing 12-22-2008 12:09 AM

I only have Surfer Rosa and Doolittle, but I intend to get everything they ever recorded before the end of the week.

cardboard adolescent 12-22-2008 12:44 AM

The Breeders "MOUNTAIN BATTLES" is very excellent

It sounds nothing like Pixies except for being guitar rock and Kim's voice

Albini did a great job recording. I have the vinyl, which I recommend as Kim & Kelly endorse All-Wave Recording wherein no manipulation of the sounds is done after the fact of the initial recording, and they take it to the extreme of metal masters for the vinyl pressing

Also the cover art is very beautiful and looks great in the large-size vinyl format

Piss Me Off 12-23-2008 03:24 PM

Mountain Battles is ruuuuubbish compared to Pod and Last Splash.

Well, I know what I like and I remember when those were popular. I liked them okay at the time but they didn't stick with me. But I'll be giving them another listen sometime in the next few months, I expect.
