Default Codeine

Search has never done me wrong, but I can't find a Codeine thread. More slowcore(lol) for ya, very sombre, nasal, and unhurried.

I like this band quite a lot. Their music can be very bleak and depressing at times but at the same time can comfort you. Definitely one of the best slowcore bands.

This song is a favourite of mine

I have a live Codeine bootleg as well if anyone wants it?

I've got a super-soft spot for The White Birch. It's one of my favorite albums.
I wrote a review of it here once.

I only have The White Birch, which I just put on now. It's been a while.

I do like this record. I never really found myself engrossed in it the same way I was with I Could Live In Hope by Low & Songs About Leaving by Carissa's Wierd, but I do enjoy it.

Anything else worth checking out by this band?

Well, I think Frigid Stars is their best album, and a classic of the slowcore sound in general.

Really good band, but definitely one you have to be in the right mood for.

I'd love it if you would upload it. What format is it in?

Their whole discog is pretty much flawless, in my opinion. Brilliant band.

I like them, they've got the ability to make me zone out of whatever I'm doing and really just listen to the slow gentle tones and vocals.

My first time listening to them, really digging their stuff. If I were to buy an album of theirs which one should I get first? Any Suggestions?

It's in 128kbps mp3 unfortunately, I haven't come across anything better I'm afraid. I don't think it's a soundboard recording and the sound is a bit muffled, but it still fairly listenable.

They only released two albums, Frigid Stars and The White Birch. Get both of them, they're both great!
