They were great last night. Played the new album in its entirety, and the show was free. Can't beat that!

Funny that this has come up right now, because I'm in the same boat as inkfields. I found about about them about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I've been really enjoying them since.

I miss them by one day at Øya :\ been getting into Attack on Memory recently.

I like their latest album Here and Nowhere Else more than Attack on Memory. It sounds like a more mature and focused album.

I wouldn't say I like it more than Attack on Memory, because AoM is really, really good.
But it's definitely another stellar effort.
Surprised about how little discussion it's prompted considering the internet was all over the previous album.
I'm thinking they're one of the best bands for killer choruses.

Zer0 04-17-2014 04:21 AM

Attack on Memory is still a really good album, especially 'Wasted Days'. But there were one or two songs that I didn't really care too much for. Here and Nowhere Else feels more consistent and is very enjoyable from start to finish.

I agree about the killer choruses. The band strike the right balance between noisy and intense, and melodic and memorable. They also have more depth and variety than bands like Japandroids.

Fun band. Saw them play somewhere in Oakland with Japandroids. Joyce Manor were supposed to show up too but flaked, t'was lames. Great. Live. Set. Crowd was pretty hipsterish but whatevz, still got some moshin.

You know that feeling when your taste has been evolving into new territory and you're consuming everything you can find in a genre or whatever and then you find the epitome of everything you like about the genre in one band? Because that's what just happened to me with Cloud Nothings.
