Default Crocodiles

Who digs?

For those that haven't heard them before, I stumbled upon this band through my love for the jazz-punk/spazzcore/whateverthehellyouwanttocallthem group The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower. Discovering that two of the latter's members formed Crocodiles upon the dissolution of TPTBUTET, I went about checking them out with haste.

Now, to anyone hoping for some more jazz-punk, you'll be disappointed. Crocodiles are, in essence, a noise pop band. But fuck me, what insanely good noise pop it is. Beautiful melodies and engaging hooks ramped up to the max with layers of distortion and other audio manipulations, all intermingling to provide this textured, hazy gem of a sound.

I'll wager a bet that some of you are sitting there thinking 'BLEUGH, heard this all before, aren't there enough noise pop bands about...', and to you I say valid point, but Crocodiles are better than 90% of said bands.

This song is the tits, it's like Neu! meets My Bloody Valentine

And this even better.

The album I have is Sleep Forever, recommended.

You, sir, read my mind. Fortunately, you're right about them being better than most noise pop bands... I'll look into them.

I must admit that this is the best noise pop I've heard in quite a while.

They remind me a lot of Xtrmntr / Evil Heat era Primal Scream.

Which is no bad thing because I've given up wishing they'd go back to doing that sort of thing, Maybe I should check out more of this band.

*And I was probably the biggest Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower cheerleader on the forum for a while too

I freaking love Sleep Forever but have yet to check out Endless Flowers. Sleep Forever is so good I just keep playing that. Once it gets old I'll move on to Endless Flowers.
