Then, no they aren't. I wouldn't even say they have the sound, they're very poppy but I can't deny Animal is a catchy song.

I think they sound quite Killers-esque on Sins Of My Youth.

As an aside to the above post, look through this section of the forum most of the bands here in the indie section are not independant.

True, i'd say Indie doesn't even have any relation to labels these days. But I just think Neon Trees are Pop.

I was going to say that actually that there is no real relation to labels now, more a case of who is writing and making their own music and who is being given it all by the label

They sounds kind of like an Indie band, but they're not fully there. Kind of in-between.

Independent music shouldn't have a particular "sound". With bands like Pavement, Pixies, Silver Jews, Magnetic Fields, people have felt the need to label them as indie or independent and that has had stupid consequences on the generation after. Now, people associate indie with that sort of sound. I've never met a person who was into the "indie" bands on a major label, but I just find the whole labeling thing rather stupid, especially when the meaning is misconstrued over a decade or two.

I wouldn't really call them "Indie" either. I do have their album and I do like it but none of their songs really strike me as "indie".

Not many new bands come out these days that actually have more than one good song, or hit song. We are lucky that these crap record companies are actually signing good bands again. Neon Trees and F.U.N. Good bands that can cross over genres. And be able to penetrate the mainstream mediocrity, so we don't have to listen to the same 'ol, regurgitated, crapola...
i like watching neon tress performing live and thanks to GoodseatTickets for Concert, Theatre and Sports which provides me best seats at fair market price..:soccer :
