Hardly!

J's guitar shredding makes up for that enough, and Murph's masterful fills should at least contribute. Lou's not a bad bassist at all either and strives to bring a little experimentation to what J would have had as good old rock.

I can never get this whole "slacker" tag. As if their music is only meant to be enjoyed by scruffy, lazy stoners with no incentive to get a job or something. I wouldn't call Dinosaur Jr's music lazy, sure it has a laid-back vibe sometimes but they do put a lot of effort into their music.
