I played through this album quite a bit when it first came out. Nothing too crazy, just straight ahead addictive indie. There are some really great moments on it. Personal favorites are "All Dried Up" and "As Far As I Can See".

I'd listened to this last year, and found it pleasant, but not especially memorable. 3/5.

Listened to some of this in mumu and liked it all. I'll have to look for more before I can judge it properly.

I've thought about getting this, is it worth it guys?

I liked this. I've heard some of the songs before. I really like the sound, it's not too alike much other music, I could see putting this on from time to time, but nothing spectacular.

I decided to vote decent even though I was prone to vote mediocre. It has a few redeeming tracks so... why not? Unfortunately, there really isn't anything new in this album, and while its lack originality didn't initially repel me from it, I definitely don't see myself listening to it again in the future.
Kind of a disappointment... I really like electronic music. EDIT: I'll end it with a positive note (since I sounded like a snobby douchebag): they can definitely do better, and they have potential to improve (as do most musicians). |
I've listened to it a few times now and I think it's good enough, certainly far from excellent though. There isn't much here that I haven't heard before but at the same time there's a nice dreamy feel to the album and there's some nice textures here and there. There's a few tracks that don't really do much for me but when it's good it's good, especially on tracks such as 'Turn It Off' and 'As Far As I Can See', which is probably the highlight of the album. There's no mistaking the heavy trip-hop influence (some hints of Portishead and Massive Attack here and there) and the dream-pop influences but overall they could have done something a little bit more interesting with them. The album still gets thumbs up from me though. 7/10.
