Sneer used to have pretty interesting musical tastes as I recall, so I'm happy to bump a rec of his.

Who on earth were Nine Black Alps, and what are they doing today ? In this thread so far, you will look in vain for a YouTube clip (Remember the days when YouTube still had a limited number of clips available?!), so I thought I'd rectify that for starters :-

^ My first impression: it sounds pretty good of it's kind and the lyrics aren't bad either:-

Quote:
Funny how they...could have lived yeah...funny how they really live
Drag you down and pull you in and tell you nice you'll never win
Pretty good at,letting go it's the, only place you'll ever go
Prison doors sound like, wedding bells as you, ask for change at the wishing well
I don't like this place, I don't like what it's become
You can hide your face, you can always hide your guns
Shot down, spun round, strung out
Still around somehow
In the human race, there's a space for everyone
You can save yourself, you can always kill your sons, shot down, spun
Round, strung out
Still around somehow

Please check your information, Lisna: one of them passed away and now they're called Eight Black Alps. Also, I believe in 2012 they were cited for deliberate racism over their name. Those crazy Swiss, huh?

^ Yes, the Swiss can be very particular about their land!

Thanks for the update on the poor band's fortunes, but I'm afraid I have to query your arithmatic, Trollheart. If a four-piece band are Nine Black Alps, then each bandmember has a value of 2.25 Alps. Therefore, as the band is from Manchester, I think the best name to avoid any controversy is Six Point Seven Five Grey Pennines.
