I liked this album a lot when it came out, but I've not heard it in many years. Definitely one of the better post-90s shoegaze albums I've heard, though. And definitely due a revisit, soon.

I put 'not sure' because while the album itself is really well played and written, I didn't exactly enjoy it. I listened to it twice, but I didn't really sit down and pay close attention to it. I did, however, like how the instrumentals in "Capital Kind of Strain" sounded a bit like something in Tago Mago. I also thought "Robots in the Garden" was a fun experimental-ish song, too. But like I said, I'm going to need to listen to this album a bit more carefully to give a decent response.

The album takes a few listens to get into. But when it grows on you, believe me you will love it. It's very much a headphone album, there's so much going on that you need a good pair of headphones to be able to take in everything and really enjoy it.

That's what happened to me. Listened to it once at christmas, thought it was interesting but it kinda bored me, so I put it on a playlist with some other stuff I was listening to. Over time, I found myself checking what I was listening to when it was on more and more, until it got to the point where I was just listening to it on repeat... I've calmed down since then as that's a great way to get yourself hating an album :P

It's well worked, I love the ambience of it and the general melancholic-but-positive attitude of the songs, and it's currently one of the albums I listen to the most when I'm looking for something to calm me down.
