Default Duster

I just heard "Capsule Losing Contact" on last.fm and I am speechless. Such an utterly amazing song, I nearly started to cry. But what is the musicbanter opinion on Duster?

Default Aye?

How the hell does this thread have no replies?

Been into Duster big recently. I guess it's one of those... turning 35... you just want to calm **** down... things.

Anyway, Stratosphere is obviously a Holy Cow. But as good as Contempery Movement is, I think the ST is their second best. I mean, it has Lomo on it (I was a poster here for years, but alas, now I can't share song links) .

They haven't released a bad album; Helvetia and Valium Aggelein are also must-listens.

Do it. Escape from this good-for-nothing, divided world. Fill your head with blissful slowcore.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Well that was fun! I just bought a box set of their CDs after listening to some of the stuff. Thanks for the suggestion folks.

They remind me of Greet Death, a band from Michigan.

Welcome back, Sneer ! You've certainly been gone a long time ! I remember seeing some of your posts when I first arrived here, but I don't think we ever really interacted.

Anyway, here's Stratosphere, which, tbh, isn't doing much for me yet:

Stratosphere is one of my favorite albums. I bought it for a few bucks. Found it in the discount bin. TBH I didn't take at first, but it grew on me. I would play it at low volume at night just to listen to something while falling asleep. After I became familiar with it I really enjoyed it. I imagine the music to be like a soundtrack for a spaceship traveling in space.

^ That's interesting, Neapolitan. I'll probably give the album a furthur listen when I'm in a different mood. In the meantime, I think that the cover art is a good expression of the music: a painting in which everything normally calling for our attention has been deliberately removed.
