bravery are american. i dont think theres anything wrong with having pop elements to be honest. people forget that pop isnt all about Nsync or britney spears. its POPular music. if a rock band is popular enough to be labelled as pop than good on them. it doesnt mean they've sold out at all most of the time.

I was actually being sarcastic, and defending the fact that they aren't a boy band... How you can take bands like GC, and Simple Plan, which are actually boy bands with instruments and put them in the same category as bands like Franz Ferdinand, and any other up and coming euro bands is very mindboggling to me. The lyrical content has to have such a low level of meaning and importance to be condsidered a boy band in my eyes. I dont think there is anything wrong with pop elements in bands either.

They're simply a new breed of boy bands. They're all very similar, just because they dress cooler than the boy bands of yore shouldn't really disguise that. Most proper indie bands couldn't care less what they look like anyway.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I love them...Nor would I say I dislike them...I'm sure that I think they're alright so it's not like I'm "not sure" and I know who the are...So I'm not voting

Why shouldn`t they be , most of their influences are early 80s pop bands like Echo & The Bunnymen , Ultravox ,Teardrop Explodes, Japan & The Human League.

Why shouldn`t they call themselves pop?

Sweet Jane 04-11-2005 04:24 PM

Pop seems to have a derogatory meaning to most people, it's bizarre, seeing as most of the music they like is.
