Muse is a really great band.
Too bad their new single sounds like trash.

Not really. I like the experimentation they're going for.

Muse disappoint me really. On the one hand, their music is on a basic level a tendency towards metal, but on the other hand they want to get themselves a popular audience. The trouble then appears to be that they are in the words of a wise man "too pussy to be metal and too metal to be cool".

However this isn't entirely fair: no one can deny they've had quite impressive commercial success and their music is itself unique - it's just every album appears to be a more synthesised version of the last.

I always thought they were a less experimental version of Mars Volta.

If you read, I actually said it'd be interesting to see if they experimented wirh dubstep and that'd they would probably be able to pull it off.

Muse's new album available to stream on The Guardians website, for UK residents anyway.

Muse

I think Muse did the new sound well, contrary to what's being said on the previous page. The fact that they've made these sounds with their instruments rather than an electronic dj set is impressive. They are giving the public what they want and trying to bring the public back around to the rock spectrum.

Certainly not a fan of this album, Muse have been getting steadily worse since Absolution imo. I don't think i'll bother wasting my time listening to anything else by them
