The trouble is now that they aren't particularly refreshing. Yeah, they sound different from the 100,000 indie bands that plague our charts these days but in comparison with their older material they are thoroughly disappointing. Exogenesis sounds good but they filled the rest of the album with a lot of poppy filler.

They're not bad now by any means, just uninteresting. When it comes to riffy, spacey anthemic music, there's other bands i've found.
hah i've brought you over to the dark side

Hey, don't get me wrong. I like The Resistance, for what it is. Listening to it is fun and yet sad at the same time, simply cos they have lost the niche (no pun intended), or whatever, of what I loved about them in the first place.

I wouldn't recommend the new resistance album but take a look at their archive and see what you can find.

Thoughts of a dying atheist is awesomesauce.

I've always been a huge Muse fan (and I still am), but I miss the old days. In the beginning I loved The Resistance because I've always loved the tracks with piano (Butterflies and Hurricanes is my all time favorite track). But lately I've been rediscovering Origin of Symmetry, Absolution and Showbiz and I really wish they would do more stuff like this on a future album, but I really doubt they will.
I certainly do not hope that they become more mainstream than they already are..

I like their music! Muse is one of my favorite bands. I watched their concert on DVD, it was amazing. It would have been more Amazing if I watched it live ... :P

I am actually starting to get to like them... Really liked The Resistance, and now I am gaining an interest in their earlier stuff... kinda thinking of downloading Black Holes and Revelations...

Absolution > Black Holes, I think.. Hard to choose between, I used to love both. I'd recommend getting both

That's the spirit! I hold both of their albums as the best. You won't be disappointed. The Resistance has really put me off Muse I used to love them, then I kind of stopped listening, no idea why. Then they were releasing a new album and I was really looking forward to the Resistance and it just did nothing for me

I miss Muse.
