So I had some pretty negative views towards The Resistance when I first heard it but this album has definitely grown on me and I'm actually really starting to like it. You can't deny that 'Uprising' is a very catchy tune, and lots of the other tracks renew my undying love for Bellamy and his skills on piano... *eargasm* The only track that I have a strong disliking for is 'United States of Eurasia.' It just sounds so much like a rip-off of Queen and I just can't listen to it for some reason.

Thats exactly my opinion of United States of Eurasia. I detest Queen but that song still offends me. I still think apart from that theres a couple of middle of the road tracks and the rest is good. Its just no Origin of Symmetry.

No, it definitely isn't up their with their earlier albums. I absolutely love Origin of Symmetry and Absolution, much more than their later stuff but The Resistance is really growing on me and definitely not as bad as my first impressions were.

The few songs that I have heard from The Resistance have actually sounded kinda appealing to my ears...

I'd really like to hear muse throw caution to the wind though, leave the pop stuff aside and make an all out prog album.... I actually think they'd pull it off VERY well....

Are awesome. What's their best album IYO?
I have three of their albums: BHaR, Hullaballo, and Resistance. Out of those three, I like BHaR the best. Their latest album is far from their best... It seemed like their best when I first heard it but then, it lost it... I feel like it's unfinished, like they rushed it or something... Anyhow... |
