Default Dirty Three

Forgive me if there is already a thread, alas, I could not find one.

Anyway, who digs this ****ing amazing band? I suppose you could call them post-rock - and in my opinion they're one of the best out there. Warren Ellis also plays with The Bad Seeds and Grinderman - he's done some film scores with Cave too on films such as The Proposition.

Get hold of the albums Horse Stories and Whatever You Love, You Are.

Yeah, excellent band. I think this is the 3rd time I've seen them mentioned on MB just today. I knew I was here for a reason.

I'm a huge fan of Ocean Songs. I haven't listened to it in a long time but it was a real significant part of my life at one point.

I love this amazing band. Yeah Horse Stories is my favorite too, but everything I've heard from them was very good. What I like the most is that despite creating some incredibly melancholic music (damn that violin) it never feels sentimental in a 'sugary' way, like some post-rock. But their earlier albums had some pretty intense excursions as well.

I fixed it. Instead of the whole embedding thing, try putting this value: KbWTUtScWa4 from the address (//www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWTUtScWa4) between youtube tags. It's easier and works every time.

Enthralling! Thankyou.
From the monotonous intro it was obvious this tune had a plan...the introduction of an amazing musician and his viola (assuming it is a viola and not a violin?). Who cares!
Strangely, never for one second did I expect any lyrics. And it didn't matter!
Probably the best 10 minutes I've spent on MB in 2011 and you can include 2010 too.

Haven't got hold of Horse Stories, but I'm a huge fan of the latter. Start listening to Whatever You Love with a good book in hand and, seriously, you won't get enough of the thing all day.

Like plenty of others, it's through Warren Ellis' work with Nick Cave that I first chanced across them. The name Dirty Three itself first came to my attention in this little number;

^ An extremely rare song...if you don't have Nick Cave's B-sides and rarities box set of course
