It is not a bad break up though...they could be back together in a few years....maybe...hopefully. Truly one of the alternative greats of the 90's

I think it just means they went out on a low note. As an album it is probably their weakest. Had they went out on Quebec, they would have went out in a blaze of glory.

Not that "La Cucaracha" is terrible, it is it's own thing, it is just, I don't know... as I say, I really only like those 2 songs a lot.

I love this song. Probably the main reason I come back to it.

But this remains a top 5 Ween moment for me:

Picture makes me think of this cover. Would be greatly improved with Elliott on vocals I think.... maybe not, I just like the thought of hearing Elliott Smith sing Ween. I like his guitar on this one a lot.

This is probably my favorite version of that song:

Ocean Man
Your Party
Piss up a Rope

Ween is Frank Zappa if he wasn't so ****ing impressed with himself. The songs they wrote were just asking to be written, and only a band like Ween, wholly uninterested in being some iconic band roaming the globe, could have pulled off.

The first time I heard them was this frame shop I worked at which was a bit counter-culture, and they used to play 12 Golden Country Greats when business was slow. What an album. What a band. Yasss Ween.

The Pod is the best album they ever did - a stoned tripped-out masterpiece.
