American Indie, Lo-Fi, Noise-Pop Bands?
Who else can't get enough of this indie, lo-fi surf-esque sound coming out of America from bands such as Best Coast, Wavves, Dum Dum Girls, Cults etc.
Personally I adore the sound, it's like the soundtrack to a summers day in California. If you haven't heard it already, you should definitely check out one of the bands I suggested. (Preferably Best Coast) Who agrees? Who Disagrees? And Why!? |

Yes Girls and Surfer Blood! I forgot. Oh yeah I wasn't a fan of Wavves until I heard his third LP release 'King Of The Beach'. If you have heard and still aren't a fan then fair enough, but if you haven't heard it... give it a little listen, it might convert you as it did me !

I don't know why, but one day I had the sudden impulse to get Surfer Blood's Astrocoast. I usually have no interest in that kind of music, but I really wanted to get it for no reason. The Verdict: One of the best albums of 2010. It'll probably show up on my top 10 list in the near future.

I like some of it, but it's just a fad.
The latest trend, and a lot of bands use the cool Indie Lo-Fi to blanket the lack of quality in their songs. But some of it is really good. Girls and No Age - I like them. |

Yeah, I agree with that... I can see that it is a trend and I'm normally against following trends for the sake of following trends, but in this case I actually really dig it! Best Coast is my favourite of them all. I haven't heard No Age, what are they like?
