Her album is okay...I love Rabbit Heart. But I do agree with comments that Florence could be key in boosting the commercial viability of indie music. Considering it's a genre that capitalizes on catchy hooks (albeit of acoustic construction) it was only a matter of time.

Personally, she reminds me a little of Siouxsie & The Banshees, although I obviously much prefer said band.

yeah, Indie went commercial, but the hook from "Dog Days" is so damn catchy that I'm not even sad.
Florence herself is kind of a generic mix of Zooey Deshenel and Jenny Lewis, although she seems to be a better singer then both....

She's okay, aside from the music she has killer legs.

Florence and the Machine is my favourite band ever. I looove Florence so much. I love everything she's done, I can't choose a favourite song.

I haven't listened to much of them, but I'm listening to them right now, and I approve. Of course, I love most anything with a female vocalist.

Love love love. I've completely punished her album and am really looking forward to her next release. What a voice!

I've seen them live twice, some pretty good shows. So be sure to catch 'em if they play close to you and it isn't too expensive.

Her voice is like no other. It's so powerful and just beautiful. She's a very very VERY talented woman and Lungs is a great album. Definitely a top recommendation of mine.

I admit that I got Rick Rolled...

I think F&tM is a product of the mainstream factory of catchy hooks, not to say that her music isn't worth bobbing my head to and I do enjoy Dog Days, but still like you guys said, she's "underwhelming." Honestly, Foster the People and their overplayed "Pumped up Kicks" is doing a better job of pushing "Indie" to the mainstream audience than Florence Welch is doing.
