Thanks for the link. Just finished listening to it. It's ... OK. Definitely an 80's vibe to it.

I think the last 3 songs were the most interesting. But "Past Life" was probably the most entertaining cuz it was the goofiest. But overall he's taken out much of his bite/edge on this album. It reminds me of Fleetwood Mac when they came out with Mirage, much smoother and more polished than their previous stuff, but definitely lacking in edge.

I'm sure it'll sell well though.

I think they lost a bit of heart.

I really like Currents. The vocals and the sonic textures mix well with the neo-disco beats. I don't exactly understand why this band is so heavily associated with psychedelia, however.

Have you heard Lonerism? It sounds straight out of 1968.

To me, Innerspeaker sounds more like 1968 than does Lonerism.

I know it seems like I might be trying to put you on the spot but what music from 68 do you think Innerspeaker sounds like?

Actually after just skimming through Innerspeaker you can hear stuff like 13th Floor Elevators and Beatlesesq vocalizing.

The very first time I listened to Innerspeaker, when "Desire Be, Desire Go" played (2nd song) I was, like, "OMG this sounds like he went through a time warp to 1968."

I just listened to it and I think it's better than Innerspeaker or Currents. Some of it is very retro but some it sounds new (to me). Great album.
