Thumbs down

I can't really say I'm a huge fan. Had the opportunity to see them live but wasn't too fussed over the ticket so gave it to a friend. I can see why folk like them, but they aren't my cuppa tea.

Talking The Kills

Just seen a cool little set of vids, featuring Alison Mosshart of The Kills fame.

She is getting fashionably poetic for this clothing collection. Check it out to see this multi talented songstress!

Fuck the people!

I was recently introduced to this band by a friend, they are fucking great. They embody all the best things about the 00s music scene.

Very, very average band. They have a couple of okay songs but nothing which makes me want to go back and listen regularly. The only song I really like is Black Balloon.

Anyone listened to their new album, Blood Pressures? It's rather good.

What I love about the Kills is that while their production is innovative and layered, they have (unlike Yeah Yeah Yeahs for instance) retained the harder edge to their sound that defined the early albums. If you're a fan of minimalistic Indie rock, you will love these guys.

Blood Pressures is a pretty good album. I wouldn't say it's entirely consistent though, none of their albums really are, I don't really like 'Nail In My Coffin' and there's one or two filler tracks as well that don't really grab my attention. But with songs like 'Future Starts Slow', 'DNA' and 'Damned If She Do' it gets a thumbs up from me.
