This thread is frickin sweet! I've been meaning to try Neutral Milk Hotel, Yo La Tengo, Nick Drake, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr for a while now, sort of being prompted

One thing I did want to ask though, has anybody got any recommendations for bands of a similar ilk to The Long Blondes? Kate Jackson has just formed a new group and I'm keeping an ear out for them, but for me, ive never come across anything quite like them! I suppose it's the lyricism that gets me though. Works soooo well with the sound, too.


Or anything like Death From Above 1979 or Eagles of Death Metal?
