Just listened to each of the songs you posted and didnt dislike any of it. The very last band Minutemen did appeal to me most though. Wasnt a very long piece but what little I heard instantly got my attention.(must have been the catchy guitar lick he put out there right off the bat) Definatley going to look more into some of these albums. Get out of this comfort zone rutt ive been in.

All of those bands and albums are great. Minutemen were a great band. If you get a chance to see this, I highly reccomend you see it !

All of their albums are really good as well. Great stuff.

also to add to your list of stuff to check out:

Sugar - Copper Blue

Failure - Fantastic Planet

Jawbox - For Your Own Special Sweetheart

Morphine - Yes

Codeine - Frigid Stars

leave it there, and see if you like any of these... if you do, tell me which ones and I can fine tune the future suggestions a little more.

The vid of "feed me jack" that you posted didnt play so I looked it up on youtube. I saw what seemed to be just him I assumed and his guitar and being a fan of anyone who can pull off that feat and make it sound good I clicked on it. ****ing awesome and my favorite as of yet. I liked the slow delivery and then driving it home at the end with not to much but just enough voice elevation to put emphasis on the emotion. The others you posted were ok as well but more so the first one by far.

Appreciate the posts and ive actually heard that song you posted by Failure somewhere before. I want to say a guy I use to work with use to play that song but I cant be sure. Jawbox was probally the one that stood out the most but like I said. Im just now exploring so some will jump out at me and some will take time as my appreciation develops more for the genre. The one you posted by Codeine I kept on waiting for it to kind of take off at the end but never did.

Yeah, with Codeine that is typical to the "slowcore" style. Slowcore - Music Genres - Rate Your Music

If you like Pavement and Jawbox, then I recommend Archers of Loaf.
