In your opinion.
If I ever start a band, my goal in life will be to become one of those horrible generic bands that have millions of fans and twice as many dollars. They're a hell of alot better than that Sum41 and Simple Plan BS. |

My music will suck to you.
Yet, I'd still have millions of fans and definately would not care whether it appealed to you or not. If you don't like a band, say so. And then leave it at that. I have a special hatred for people that make comments like, "they're a ****ty generic radio band". They tend to be the people that say the same thing about EVERY radio band, and listen to nothing but obscure artists no one's ever even heard of. They're so ****ty they've managed to go from an unknown band, to being one of the biggest in mainstream music. |

*Ahem* That's how all bands do it...
It's not like all the bands I listen to are obscure, anyways. Most people have heard of at least half of the bands I listen to. I do listen to some quite mainstream bands too, like Billy Talent and Underoath, for example.

I wasn't trying to imply that you didn't listen to mainstream.
Just trying to make a point, that most people I run into hate music simply because it IS mainstream. I despise Panic! At The Disco.....yet I'm sure 200,000 others in this state alone, probably think they're the best thing since sliced bread. If it sounds good to me, it's worth listening to. Doesn't matter where I hear it at. |
