Also, Get the "Switched On 2" compilation. It has gems like this.

I've been really enjoying this band! I've been listening to an assortment of their albums/eps/singles and so far I've only been impressed by what I've heard. Each piece of work is consistently beautiful and interesting. Seem pretty unique, too. At this rate I'd be counting them in my top artists of the 90s. My only real complaint is that their sound gets to be a bit samey over their career, but it hasn't bugged too much yet.

Besides the music I've been listening to, I know relatively little about the band though. I guess I should do some reading up on them.

For all their good albums I think Stereolab are a better singles / E.P.s band and those 3 albums collect all of them.
I got around to listening to these. I agree that their early EPs and singles are awesome, they grab your attention that little bit more, particularly on the first Switched On comp.

I love these:

This song has an almost punk feel to it, a bit like early Siouxsie and The Banshees.

There's a song from a single that I have always loved and I think it's one of their ten best: 'Canned Candies'

8-bit version of Cybele's Reverie sounds like it's straight out of level 1 in a 2D Sonic game.
