Default Noise Rock

Anyone know any good bands? Some of my favorites are Lightning Bolt,No Age, and Pink & Brown. I could go on a lot more but it's sometimes hard to draw the line between Noise Rock and Math Rock.

No age is pretty cool. I really love wavves though. You should try their album wavvves. Its by one dude and is probably one of my favorite lo fi noisy albums.

Good call Jackhammer, that is one of my absolute favorites. If you don't like Melt-Banana I don't think you can say you like noise rock.

I could go on for a while with bands, but here's a few of my favorites.

That's a full album by An Albatross... sadly far too short.

Xinlisupreme is great for harsh noise, but may not be for you if Wavves is too much.

If you've never listened to Fuck Buttons, their music is like noise rock combined with post rock. Cool stuff.

While we're on the topic, I'd just like to know what exactly noise rock is. For example, would Telescopes fit in? They're usually classified as shoegaze, but they're pretty damn harsh. Or bands like Suicide, DNA, Swans, and other no wave stuff. Would you guys call these noise rock?

It's a massively vague term but if it sounds loud and harsh and rejects most formal ideas of songwriting then you're probably on the right track. I wouldn't say most shoegaze stuff can be classified as it but no-wave is generally very similar, i'd be happy to class Swans as noise rock.

Melt Banana. Lightning Bolt and Fuck Buttons as previously mentioned are big daddies, here's a couple of other highlight bands for me..

Oh yeah, and just saw The Jesus Lizard thread in this same forum. I'm gonna assume you are well aware of all of the Albini noise rock groups...
