you didnt have to watch it. and yes, simplicity can be fulfilling- i like the white stripes after all. but there are a few "rock" bands i feel are too simple.

i couldn't turn on the tv without seeing it. I couldn't turn on the radio without hearing it, hence why i NEVER listen to capital FM any more.

p.s. thats like saying to all the Green Day bashers on here
"you dont have to listen to them"
theyd still complain, and they still do.

I just find it ironic that you`re complaining about people not having any talent whilst at the same time singing the praises of a band who throughout their 15 or so year history released the same old formulaic pop songs over & over again

valid point

argh jesus, everythings about green day at the moment (not a personal insult to you). green day at the moment is on every music channel under the sun and a large number of radio stations. their a bit harder to avoid then a TV programme on one channel every saturday night.

cant help but feel your missing my point on purpose for once. My quarrell is not with x-factor only, that was merely a model of the grander scope of how anyone can become famous nowadays. I mean, don't get me wrong, its good that we are trying to find new talent i suppose. But can't help but feel Queen and The Beatles etc. had to work their way up and get noticed themselves not the other way round. It is stuff like
'we are the cheeky girls' - i need so more about that
and Electric six is another, who are only around because they sang a crude song about a *** bar and did a rubbish version of radio gaga... sigh

That seems wholely unfair to dig at E6 like that. I never heard one song of theirs on anything remotly commercial. I bought their CD and I thought it was pretty good.

I don't get the logic that says "im gunna buy their CD because they sing about *** bars." I can't hep but feel you're exersizing your agenda. Maybe im ill exposed but I havn't heard many disco rock bands out recetly, and I can only recall Kiss trying it. And when was the last time a garage song had a sax solo in it? (no DMB does not count)

Um you do realise Electric Six have been together since about 1996 & have been releasing stuff since then on independent labels.

not sure if thats sarcasm or not, but anyway, i do understand your point- and basically all the acts that grasp 15 minutes of fame from these talent shows really are not worth moaning about because seriously, they make a few kids TV and chatshow appearances, release a single- it reaches the top 10 then their done- blown out. i never hear any think of them because i do not listen to the stations or watch the channels their likely to be on. bands that work hard to be the best they can more often than not get the acclaim they deserve if not mainstream success. And in reply to big3killedmyraindog, LCD soundsystem are a disco-rock band that puts electric 6 to shame.
