Okkervil River
They're kind of a folk rock/indie-folk band I guess. I don't know who to compare them too since the only indie I really like is Patrick Wolf, Cursive and Bright Eyes, but its kind of dark mellow indie-folk/country stuff.
Anyway, I have Don't Fall in Love With Everyone You See My favorite song is probably Westfall or Okkervil River Song. Anyone else like them? |

yes, I'm also obsessed with the song for real, but I haven't found any other songs that I'm crazy about. there are a few more that I like, but nothing really spectacular that jumps out and grabs me by my metaphorical balls.

Okkervil River
Anyone into Okkervil River? I think along with Arcade Fire's "Funeral" they released the best album of last year ("Black Sheep Boy"). They are kinda alt-country sounding with some heavy underpinnings, especially on the tracks "For Real" and "Black." I don't think that they sound like anyone else out there and the pure emotion on this album is unbelievable. If you like Okkervil River check out their side project "Shearwater" and their first two albums "Don't fall in love with everyone you know" and "Down the River of Golden Dreams"
Cheers! |
