They practically invented it, I might have misspoke about Hot Snakes, but Drive Like Jehu were one of the first post-hardcore bands to swerve into that territory.

Just wanted to say thanks to the tons of recs I've got from reading through here (more than 15).
Ones that haven't been mentioned that deserve cred: - Ancient Glass EP by Fugue (this is legendary, although only 17 minutes long; perfect for inspiration, to sleep to.. it doesn't matter what the situation is, it fits) - Addicts and Drunks by Ghosts and Vodka Others which I'll second/third/etc.: - More Skin With Milk-Mouth by Giraffes? Giraffes! - Self-titled by Tera Melos - Complex Full of Phantoms by Tera Melos/By the End of Tonight - Phantasia by LITE Also, some interesting related artists to possibly listen out for.. - Weird Korea - God Tiny - Cloned Moor Solares |

Alright, so due to this thread I've checked out the following artists. The bolded ones are those that I personally like/recommend:
- Don Caballero (Don Caballero II, What Burns Never Returns) - Hella (Hold Your Horse Is) - Lightning Bolt (Wonderful Rainbow, Hypermagic Mountain) - This Town Needs Guns (Split with Cats and Cats and Cats, Animals) - Battles - 65daysofstatic (The Fall of Math) - Minus the Bear - Sleeping People (Growing) - Meet me in St. Louis - Slint Luckily, still more to listen to! Will post back with my next progress report. @BTown: Piglet is meh for me, same with We Versus the Shark. Have you not listened to Tera Melos? Surely you would like them if you haven't already.. |

I must be getting old, but I've never even heard of Math rock!

Math Rock characterized by a lot of starting and stopping and uncommon time signatures.
It startes at 2:42 Itm ight just sound like a bunch of randomness but they do actually write these songs and memorize them. |
