They're songs are similar... They're not the same, what I posted were two takes on the same f*cking melody... The only band that comes close to being that uncreative is Nickelback.

Also. Brock is like 5' 6", Wakeman in comparison is much taller. I'm sorry... I'm just a bitch when it comes to detail. Last edited by boo boo; 05-29-2007 at 05:48 AM. |

My bad, I guess I'm not very good at measuring distance between two dimensional stick figures. Oh woe is me.

Actually no... Borrowing from other artists is a long held musical tradition... Classical composers have been known to "quote" other pieces of music into their own, Jazz musicians improvise over popular melodies without giving credit to the original musicians, and blues guitarists steal licks from each other all the time... Add on to that the fact that most punk bands ripped off garage bands and most Indie bands nowadays rip off post-punk bands. Your idea of attacking one band you don't like because they're known to take melodies they have heard and improvise around it is just a pure example of selectivism. Am I being selectivist now? You bet, because I think ripping off yourself (and on the same damn album) and in such a blatently obvious way is just the epitomy of lame. I also hate Modest Mouse.
I'm usually above the whole "coming to a band thread just to talk trash about them" thing, but since you're not, then you probably wont mind. |
