I'm in a Modest Mouse mood this week and as I listen to Sad Sappy Sucker right now it really makes me wish I could travel back in time and see them live at this juncture of their career. The energy in some of these songs is unmatched in their later releases...

I would have liked to see them tour The Lonesome Crowded West. Anything before that would have been interesting, but would mean I'd miss out seeing some of my favorite material. I'm super glad to have seen them tour The Moon & Antarctica though.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Yeah, upon further thought I think I agree. I don't think they would have had enough material back then, and the chance to hear 'Shit Luck' and 'Lounge' makes it worth it...

you can listen to live recordings from that era. Here's a link to a 95 show in seattle with some SSS tracks.

I agree with you. Out of the three times i have seen them, they have not played one song from LCW. It makes me sad cause thats my favorite of their albums.

That's just downright criminal, man. They should be ashamed.
