Is that right? Fire It Up is a pretty awful song, King Rat is pretty awesome.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

i really hope modest mouse take a step in a new direction on their next album. their recent shit is too accessible to be great(from good news on).

Agreed. I'm still hopeful despite a mediocre album followed by a shit one.

King Rat is a good indicator of the direction they should go in; very unique yet still accessible. I like their later albums more anyhow.

i agree too. It would be really cool to see what direction they would go if it wasn't so pop like, like the last couple of releases. But still to me its cool that modest mouse still is very unique even though my aunt loves Float On. You can't deny that its good music.

very unique yet accessible is what they have been the previous two albums. they are in a rut or there isn't any going back to the older quality.

@connair
i can't deny float on is an infectious little number, but the newer albums overall don't stack up to the best in their discography. i am expecting too much but i can handle the disappointment.

I've become addicted to Modest Mouse as of late, The Moon & Antarctica is their best album. NOT Lonesome Crowded West, so STFU.

I don't get the big deal about Lonesome Crowded West, TM&A is a far stronger album.

TM&A was my favorite for a while too, maybe you aren't seasoned enough.

Maybe it's just a better all round album, I think Good News For People Who Love Bad News is their second - that was my first MM album, so it means something. LCW is pretty good, but it's not all it's cracked up to be.
