Yeah, no ****. I know my s/n. IMO Thrice is the most sincere band when speaking of music. I like Modest Mouse, don't get me wrong, but as the old saying goes. "Practice what you preach"

I wouldn't agree with that, they are a good band but there are much bands that are more sincere. Against Me! is a great example. Not making it mainstream but still holding on to their pride which is music.

i agree totally. im not a fan of against me's music but i would have to say, seeing them live they are very much into what they do and for that they get my full respect as musicians and artisits.

Hey Idiots there is no such thing as selling out, music is music, it has nothing to do with what record label u r making it on, it dont matter what magazine interviews the band because of promotion, it doesnt matter if they are on tv, it dont matter if a bunch of trendy little emo teen ***boys are singing a song from one of my favorite bands who I have listened to for the last 7 years, and they pretend to be modest fans when they dont know **** from thier previous albums at all, what matters is that any fan can listen to a modest cd on thier own time and enjoy it for what it is,oh and Thrics sucks balls for sure, as does emo just my opinion though so dont get angry

I used to work for HMV over here in England, and do you think we EVER stocked albums by the likes of Modest Mouse? Of course not. And as a result nobody over here had heard of them or cared about them. Now they have heard of them, and a lot of people are starting to care about them. If that means the small-minded among you are going to choose to hate them, then meh, I really pity the way you allow your own blinkered views to get in the way of enjoying a band.

Default modest mouse is an excellent band!

!

1. If Modest Mouse wasn't on MTV, I bet you will like the music then. Can't you see how stupid this concept is [Thrice]? No, fool, you can;t like a band's music because of how popular the band is. It's like saying "I LIKE APPLES BECAUSE I EAT SOCKS".

2. "I want Modest Mouse to be all mine....It's about performing in front of six little people at a bar,. WWWAAAAAAAHHHHHHH ITS MY BAND!!!!"

Let's say [austin] you started a band, and you want to get a lot of money, but you are a real "man" and you refuse any major record labels or anything that will give you a lot of publicity and money, because you "want the 'fun' of performing in a local bar". Eventually a fire starts in your old cheap messy trailer, and all your equipment gets messed up. Guess what...YOU REALLY SUCK!!! Your band is over, and it was FUN!!!!!

3. The people who keep saying that Modest Mouse is a sellout, or that they suck, or that they have too much fame, or too much money, or too much happiness, or too many fans, or any other vague, unjustified, useless, and insignificant comments might as well start their own band, see how "good" it feels NOT to go in a major record label. ---------

BOTTOM LINE: It's really annoying that all over the internet, I see all kind of idiots crying about how Modest Mouse is too famous. You can't be too famous! You can't be too lucky, or too happy, or whatever. You got to take it while it's lying there, if it isn't already running away. If you "indie" fools always have this attitude, you're in for some bad news. Life will not let you say "I think that I won't make any progress because I love sitting at the bottom of the pyramid."

Yes, perhaps this statement will save your life, indie fools: YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT WHILE ITS THERE, THERE IS NO GOING UP IF YOU TRY TO FALL DOWN.

I wish all the best for Modest Mouse and their musical career.
