Never quite got into that one. I should give it another spin, it's been years.

Their old stuff is certainly not overrated - it is genius created from emotional and environmental depression (both lyrically and musically), as well as the band flat out knowing how to come up with incredible jams using simple chords and rhythms.
Working on getting everything from "This Is a long Drive.. " up to "The Moon and Antarctica" (this includes Sad Sappy Sucker too, ignoring its delayed release date) on hard copy (it's all on my iTunes already). Most of my favorite lyrics of all time come from MM, and deservedly so.. Brock really puts meaning behind the phrase "beauty through simplicity". Everything they did pre-2001 is amazing in my eyes, although I also like Ugly Casanova a lot. There are a couple of tracks I like off "Good News.. " and "We Were Dead.. ", but nothing in comparison to the likes of any of their old material. Err, yeah! |
