I dont really know how to describe this band. Featuring members of Rapid Youth, the first thing that came into my head when listening to Interracial Coupling was 'surf goth'. I appreciate the fact that this term is an oxymoron in itself, but the music is literally and simultaneously sunny and dark - in equal measure. There is something of a 50's Rock & Roll element to all of this too, in particular i've seen a lot of comparisons to Roy Orbison, but i think listening to the songs themselves will describe their sound more succinctly than i could ever muster

By the way guys, if you like Ancient Crux check out their label, Half Machine Records, there are some really sweet acts doing pretty interesting things such as Real Estate, Woods, Banjo or Freakout and MIT.
