Default Richard Hawley

I've searched for a Richard Hawley thread but there doesn't seem to be one, which is a shocking shame. You lot, get on it.

as a side-note, do not watch his official videos. They are very poor and I think they ruin the feel of the song they represent.

Never heard of him before. His music is very sad, haunting but is melodic and has quality.

It's not all like that, I just chose two cuts from his ambient debut 'Late Night Final', which is his most overlooked but best work.

I didn't say sad and haunting was bad.

Love Richard's music.I have been raving about him to
anyone who will listen for a couple years now.He just
released a new album titled Truelove's Gutter.Another
stellar outing.
I personally like Coles Corner the best.

Don't think he meant to imply you did. I'm looking into this, I'll get back to ya.

I don't find his music sad at all personally.More like introspective,
to me.But as with everything, YMMV.To me what makes his music
so good, is that he manages to take a heavy subject ,and pair it with
a melody and vocals that are very mellow and relaxing. He has an ability
to sing about things like drug addiction, without getting too dark or
depressing.

One of my all-time favourite artists. He's a real parent-pleaser too so if you're a kid looking to bridge a generation gap, look no further!

Does anyone remember the video to 'Serious'? I know it's not that old, but it was so bloody funny the first time I saw it.

If you haven't seen it, search on YouTube. I wonder if it inspired that film 'Lars And The Real Girl'
