Best album of the year so far :thumb:

I've heard they're good but haven't heard any of their songs myself.

daft punk is playing at my house and on repeat are cool songs. very electronic which is a sweet touch.

yeah those are the good ones. some of their sh*t I just cant take.

i only heard disc 2 son. one o my crew had dat sh*t on in the car. trax 3 an 5 sounded tight enuff.

some of their stuff like their daft punk song is ok, but i wouldnt put it as like rock out dancing music.

It's good, but doesn't really have any fantastic singles like "Daft punk..."
I can't believe it's getting released in March 2007.

in other news, sound of silver pales in comparison to his/their self-titled.

Or it surpasses it. I don't see how you can categorize them as dance-punk after Sound of silver. It's like with The rapture, that label could have been ascribed to them for the first album, but not the second.

the lyrical content on SoS is still spunky, and he still delivers them with sass.

I missed his earlier tour but I like the new album a lot. I'm seriously considering seeing him live at Wireless in London this year (doing the Saturday gig with Daft Punk).

The lyrical content is anything but spunky, and so is the deliverance. Are you sure you're listening to the right album?

I would say that the lyrical content is, indeed, spunky and also quite intelligent.

I don't think it's right for people to expect a band to always remain the same.

Evolution is a natural process.

I think they are great. All My Friends is the best song so far this year.

it's very reminiscent of something, but i can't quite put my finger on it.

It is basically emotional Murphy, Darklands era Jesus and Mary Chain guitar and a piano.

The John Cale cover is great.

didnt like it at first but its growing on me big time. enjoying a decent amount of the tracks, but i still think they are a little overrated.

I agree, i have the SOUNDS OF SILVER album, and I have played it only a few times. If I liked it, i'm sure I would revisit more.

One of my favorite bands, I can't really think of anything they do that I don't love.
Both albums are amazing start to finish.

I wasn't too hot over their debut, but Sound of Silver got my panties wet and SOMEONE GREAT is easily one of the best tracks of the year.

sounds of silver is what got me hooked a couple months back. then i fell in love with their first album and saw them live. absolutely great show.
