Default Superchunk

Wow, considering this site's age I assumed there was already a Superchunk thread. If there is I apologize--I searched.

So what is your favorite Superchunk album? I'm trying to get a copy of Tossing Seeds right now because all I have is Here's Where the Strings Come In and Foolish...

My favorite would No Pocky for Kitty and I definitely recommend you get it next. Superchunk are a great band who I feel have for the most part released consistently good albums. Plus they're the founders of Merge which is one of my favorite labels.

I have Come Pick Me Up which is nice enough if you need some easy on the ears indie stuff, but i get the feeling that they wouldn't differ much from that?

According to AMG, Come Pick Me Up was late in their career. It was released in 1999, while the two albums I have, Foolish and This Is Where The Strings Come In, came out in 1993 and 1995, respectively, and have a slightly edgier sound. But my favorite song by them and their unanimous favorite, 'Slack Mother****er' is from around 1990 and is totally badass. I think Tossing Seeds looks like a good place to start for them because it is a collection of all or their singles early in their career (1989-1991). Here is the review:

allmusic ((( Tossing Seeds (Singles 89-91) > Overview )))

I want a copy soo bad!

why does it seem lke this band is relatively popular yet no one is actually a fan? I just recently got the self titled, on the mouth, and No Pocky For Kitty and I think they kick ass. No Pocky For Kitty is the best steve albini can do no wrong

Slack Mother****er is such a sick song. other good ones are skip steps 1 & 3 and precision auto.

This is so 90s come on you guys!! this is like malcolm in the middle ****!!!!
