Afghan Whigs
 

Anybody familiar with the Afghan Whigs? I've really been digging them lately, and I want to find something that's similar to them. Last.fm isn't very helpful - all they give me is other Greg Dulli side projects. Does anybody know anything that has a similar sort of controlled, layered noisy-ness?

This is someone I've been meaning to check out for quite a while but for some reason still haven't gotten around to. I think I'll give them a shot now; I'll let you know what I think and if I know anything that would be similar.

Gentlemen and 1965 are superb.

Oh yeah forgot I posted in here. Gentlemen's the album I listened to, it was pretty good. I'm not sure what would sound quite like them... you could try the Boo Radleys, they have their moments but their songs are often a lot poppier so I'm not so sure.

Gentlemen is goddamn awesome.

Man, I haven't heard Gentlemen in so many years. I remember liking it - and some of my friends were absolutely crazy over it (others thought it was alternative rock radio bullshit). I'll have to check out that album again someday.

That gutter twins album with Mark Lanegan was absolute quality too.

I love Gentlemen, it's probably one of the best albums to listen to after a break-up. It's a really sad, emotional, epic album. And who doesn't admit to feeling a bit teary-eyed while listening to this...



Classic

Gentlemen is such amazing album, one of the better "grunge" bands I find. They're very underrated but Gentlemen is probably one of the best 90s albums. So emotional.
