I bought one of their EPs years ago & it didn`t really grab me & I just kind of forgot about them.
I`m always up for re-evaluating stuff though & i`ve never actually heard one of their full albums.

Which do you reccommend?

I'd recommend Monday at the Hug and Pint and The Red Thread, to get a good indication of what they are like.
If you're just gonna check out one song first, Listen to the Shy Retirer and see what you think. They also done a remix of David Holmes 'Don't Die Just Yet' that you might be interested in.

Fuck off, how is this thread dead?
Now, I've only got Mad For Sadness, but it's a bloody brilliant live album. The fact that it's live doesn't detract from its brilliance one bloody iota. They remind me a bit of Slint, I find.
Here are a few tracks:

Listen and enjoy.

Great band who I haven't thought about in years.
They kind of blend together with Mogwai in my mind - mostly because they're Scottish and were popular around the same time, etc.
Thanks for the reminder, I need to revisit their albums. At least the 90s ones.

Just a little tip for Arab Strap fans. Aidan Moffat recently released a solo album with Bill Wells and it's one of the best things ever in the universe.

You've got a point there. I think I've only got Slowdive on my side. Jacques Brel, maybe?
